Exempt: Investing in our Commercial Asset Portfolio (para 3)

Decision Maker: St Edmundsbury Cabinet

Decision status: Recommmend Forward to Council

Is Key decision?: No

Is subject to call in?: No

Purpose:

The Cabinet will be asked to recommend to Council in private session regarding the proposed acquisition of property, adding to the Council’s commercial asset portfolio.

Details cannot be revealed as they could compromise negotiations and identify individuals causing prejudice to the Council and third parties.

Given the timeframe that is being worked to resolve this matter, it has not been possible to provide 28 days notice for reporting the matter being considered in private session. Under the Access to Information Procedure Rules of the Council’s Constitution, paragraphs 16.1 and 17.2, which requires that where the normal procedure cannot be followed in respect of the consideration of matters in private, the Chairman of the Overview and Scrutiny Committee is to be informed as to why the matter cannot be reasonably deferred.  This has been undertaken accordingly.

Decisions:

The Cabinet considered Exempt Report No: CAB/SE/17/057, which sought approval for delegated authority to be given to progress an addition to the Council’s commercial asset portfolio, together with associated funding required.

Councillor Alaric Pugh, Portfolio Holder for Planning and Growth, drew relevant issues to the attention of Cabinet.

Following a detailed discussion, the Cabinet supported the recommendations as proposed in the exempt report.

RECOMMENDED TO COUNCIL:

The decision is contained in the exempt version of these minutes.
