Purpose:

In accordance with the attached Officer Decision Record, the Director (Resources and Property), in consultation with the Portfolio Holders for Resources and Property and Growth, has made a decision on the implementation of the Alternative Fuel Payment following the allocation of funding from Government.

Decision:

Delegation has been given to the Director for Resources and Property, in consultation with the Portfolio Holder for Resources and Property, to implement in full the Alternative Fuel Payments – (Alternative Fund).

 

This power is being exercised through this decision in order to develop an Alternative Fuel Payments (Alternative Fund) scheme in West Suffolk through which grants will be paid to eligible residents.

 

Details of the scheme are contained in the attached Officer Decision Record.

 

Reasons for the decision:

Councils are required to implement the Government’s prescribed arrangements for distributing the Alternative Fuel Payment (AF) funding from Government.

 

The funding is critical to supporting householders who are impacted by rising energy prices and who are not eligible for the main Alternative Fuel Payment support.

 

The decision was within the delegation given to the Director for Resources and Property.

Alternative options considered:

No other options were considered as local authorities are required by Government to administer the scheme.
