Southgate Community Centre was handed over from St Edmundsbury Borough Council to the people of Southgate in October 2011. The Centre is now run for the community by the Southgate Community Partnership (SCP), which is a group of trustees made up of four representatives each from the Southgate Church and from the wider community, as well as a representative from both Suffolk County Council and West Suffolk Council.
